USA RED 2012 VS. AUSTRALIA 2012

Gabe York led the USA 2012 Red to an opening victory, running passed Australia 2012 led by Dante Exum’s 16 points. The USA Red squad jumped out to an early lead, controlling the tempo and running the open floor with ease. The Australian team answered back early with a 6-0 spurt to start the 2nd quarter after two quick buckets from Matthew Jackson.

However it wasn’t enough to stop the American 12 team, who took back control of the game behind York’s 25 point 7 rebound effort. Kaleb Tarczewski chipped in a solid 15 points and 6 rebounds.

ASIA 2012 VS. USA RED 2013

In their first games of the tournament, Asia 2012 and USA Red 2013 were neck and neck through the first half which ended in a 42-42 tie. However, in the 3rd quarter USA Red, led by Elijah Brown and Nate Britt opened up a sizable lead and entered into the 4th quarter with a comfortable cushion. However, in an inspired effort the Asia 2012 team was led by a monstrous performance on the boards by Steven Adams who would go on to net 20 rebounds. In the end however, USA Red 2013 came up big in the closing minutes of the game and came away with an 84-79 victory.

USA 2013 BLUE VS. LATIN AMERICA

Although team USA 2013 Blue held a significant lead for the majority of the game, the Latin American team made an outstanding leap to come within 7 points in the 4th quarter. Latin America’s Wannah Bail had an excellent game with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Hanner Perea also helped lead the comeback with several vicious dunks. However, team USA pulled away with the lead after Solomon Poole finished the quarter with a solid dunk.

This was an incredibly hard fought game in which both teams played great basketball. USA 2013 BLUE was led by Keith Frazier who put up an impressive performance with a great all around game with 24 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Helping him lead the way was Solomon Poole with 13 points and 2 rebounds. For team Latin America, Wannah Bail was incredible with 28 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Also impressive was Hanner Perea, with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

As shown by the score, the game was very close and came down to the last couple of plays but team USA was just too much for team Latin America.

EUROPE 2012 vs. USA RED 2012

For the majority of the Europe 2012 vs. USA RED 2012 matchup, the teams were neck and neck. The European team continued to impress the crowd by moving the ball around and demonstrating great chemistry. However, in the end Europe 2012 had no answer to USA RED’S big man Andre Drummond who demolished anyone and anything that was in his way. Drummond scored 31 points and picked up 9 rebounds. Of Drummond’s multitude of points was a play where he passed the ball to himself off the backboard and slammed the it home. The USA red team defeated the Europe 2012 team 87-81.

Africa vs. USA 2013 RED

Team USA 2013 Red started off strong and never looked back. They breezed by Africa 81-73. The Harrison brothers led Team USA by combining for 41 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Elijah Brown also chipped in 15 points for Team USA. Team Africa battled throughout the whole game but never cut the lead below 7 points in the 4th quarter. Team Africa was led by Antony Racine with 15 points and Michel Enanga with 13 points.

AUSTRALIA VS ASIA

Australia 65 Asia 58

Team Australia came away with a close victory Friday Night against Team Asia. Australia was led by #13 who ran the break with ease finding his teammates in transition, #26 had 2 emphatic dunks to go along with 7 boards while leading the team in scoring as well. Team Asia was led by #27 and #8 who both battled foul trouble but while on the floor proved to be a dynamic back court duo.
