The first half of the Latin America vs. Team USA 2012 Blue game went back and forth several times in the first half. No team led by more than 5 at a time. The USA 2012 Blue team only led by three points at the half. However; at the end of the 3rd quarter USA 2012 Blue was up 66-52 led by Andre Drummond a.k.a. “Mr. Just get out of the way.” If you have ever seen Andre play then you know why he earned this nickname. Team USA 2012 Blue won 92 – 74.

TEAM ASIA (0-2) – 84
Team USA 13 Red won by a final score 92-84 against Team Asia. Team USA trailed early after a surge from Team Asia who was led Steven Adams 37 points and 14 rebounds. USA was trailing after the 1st quarter until Chris Walker took over and brought USA ’13 red back in front. Walker finished the game with 25 points and 10 rebounds. After pulling ahead in the second quarter USA red held onto its lead throughout the second half despite numerous runs from team Asia. The game was unofficially finished after Walker’s emphatic dunk late in the 4th quarter.

Africa versus USA Red 2012 was entertaining with a lot of promising talent. Each team made numerous runs to stay within contention. The first half belonged to Gabe York with 20pts. Gabe York put on a dazzling display of baskets that shows why he is a big time signee for the Arizona Wildcats. Yogi Ferrell contributed in a variety of ways as well. He put on a strong floor game as he poured on 13 pts to go along with 11assists. Team Africa made a couple of late game runs to pull the game within eight points, but couldn’t get closer. Team Africa played extremely hard and got contributions from a few key players. Harouna led all scorers with 14, and Aget/Ba combined to be the anchors under the basket. Aget had 12 point to go along with a team high 9 rebounds.
USA 2013 BLUE VS. EUROPE

USA 2013 Blue and Europe started off neck and neck with the score tied 24-24 at the end of the first quarter. However, Keith Frazier brought his “A” game and quickly took over the game with his sharpshooting efforts. He finished the game with 20 points on 6-7 shooting from long range. Issac Hamilton and Solomon Poole also chipped in with 14 points each for Team USA 2013 Blue. Team Europe was led by Mario Mtasovic who had 14 points and 5 rebounds but Europe ended up losing 82-95. USA 2013 Blue takes on USA 2012 Blue in the next round and Europe plays Latin America as well.

Latin America vs. Europe was a power vs. speed matchup. Ricardo Gathers of Latin America started the game with a powerful dunk followed by a deadly 3 pointer. Latin America’s Wannah Bail had several vicious blocks that he batted off the backboard. Today however, that was not enough. Europe’s Roko Rogic was all over the place today with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and several assists.

One of the most anticipated games of the day was the matchup between USA 2013 RED against USA 2012 RED. There were many stars and key matchups in this game which highlighted Gabe York, Yogi Ferrell and Dajuan Coleman playing for USA 2012 RED. Meanwhile, the USA 2013 RED team was highlighted the Harrison twins and Chris Walker. There was pure competition and bragging rights on the line in this evening matchup. The 2012 team sped out to a hot start seeming to frustrate USA 2013 RED, but they came back in a thriller to get the win. Gabe York led the way with 24 points and 5 assists while Dajuan Coleman played like a beast with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
In a winning effort, Chris Walker was the catalyst for USA 2013 RED with 12 points, 10 rebounds and several big tip dunks, while Andrew Harrison and Thomas Hamilton came up huge down the stretch with 14 points each. The final score was 75-71 with USA 2013 RED pulling off the gritty win.
USA 2013 BLUE VS. USA 2012 BLUE

In a dazzling display of American basketball prowess, the USA 2012 BLUE and USA 2013 BLUE teams put on a great showcase of offensive firepower. Throughout the first three quarters, the USA 2013 BLUE team held a comfortable double-digit margin with a barrage of 3 pointers and a stretch of transition plays that brought the bench to their feet. However, in the second half of the fourth quarter, team USA 2012 BLUE came back and showed the younger team how it was done, led by Rodney Purvis who would go on to finish with 21 points and Cameron Ridely, who would finish with 23 points. By finishing in their transitions and playing solid defense down the stretch, USA 2012 BLUE would come away with a 104-98 victory, concluding the first 100 point game of this year’s tournament.
AFRICA VS. AUSTRALIA

Africa beat Australia with the final score of 65-53 led by Abdoulaye Harouna with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Although it was tied at the half, Africa outscored Australia 20-10 in the 3rd qtr and never looked back. Ousmane Ba also chipped in 11 points for Africa. Australia played hard and was led by Owen Odigie with 17 points.
